Jandal
Corrientes produces high quality Registered Corriente Cattle. Our
bulls can improve your registered herd, produce quality
ropers, or be put to your first-calf beef heifers. Our cows can
improve your registered herd and produce high quality ropers.
Dale
and Janice Price began breeding Corriente Cattle in March,
2002. At this time (January 2008), we have finished
with our 7th calf crop and are thrilled with the quality cattle
we
are producing. At this time our herd is 60 head strong, including
21 calves from 2007.
Getting Started
We started with 5 high quality
heifers, 3 of which were bred. We began looking for a herd bull
in May 2002. After looking at several prospects, we decided to
bring home
RAM BULL 920x2 DESPERADO 157, a double
bred
Cate's Bull 920 grandson. Even though his registered
name
is
Desperado,
we
decided
that with
his friendly disposition, Desi would be an appropriate call-name.
Desi was just what our little herd needed. He has firmly
placed his
distinctive
breed
type
on
all of
his
calves. He has matured into a superior type bull, producing
calves with the proper compact size and breed-type, and the desirable
traits of quality roping animals.
Continuing on...Today and the Future
After frimly placing his stamp throughout
our herd, Desi has moved on to a new home. He has had two sons
remain to continue the Cates 920 influence in our lines. We
have also added several new bloodlines to our herd. Primarily,
we have returned
to known
Original Mexican genetics with our two new
Bulls, known around here as
JosA and
JosB (Hose-A and Hose-B).
Our first calf crops
from these outstanding bulls will hit the ground in the spring
of 2008.
You can click on any picture of an animal
on our website to see a full pedigree and information page about
that animal. Because of our wide array of bloodlines, you can
also do quite a bit of research about Corriente lineage.
We have chosen a "Rocking JD" as our brand,
referring to the first letter in each of our names.
Our herd is rather small, and all of our
cattle get a lot of personal attention. We use our yearlings
in the roping pen. All of our cattle have names (once they are
producing for us), and are really quite spoiled! If you are
looking to start your own
pen
of
roping stock,
a registered herd, or upgrade your cattle
operation, look no further than Jandal Corrientes to add the
quality you've
been looking for!
We are located primarily in Argyle, Texas,
south of Denton and north of Fort Worth. We have a well-lit roping
arena
on the property, and are always proud to show-off our herd! We
also have ranch in Winters, Texas, about 25 miles southwest of
Abilene. Please
